Stanhope and his whisky
Stanhope really likes his whisky despite giving some boy at school " a dozen with a cricket stump".
Suicide Mission
The colonel knows that when he send the officers over the top, it is basically like sending them on a suicide mission.
Osborne
Osborne is one of the friendliest characters in the whole play, this is shown by the rest of the character calling him "uncle". Therefore when he dies, by getting sent over, we cant help feeling very sad that he has gone. However this isn't shown by the other characters in the play as much we would have hoped.
Mason
Mason is a character that brings humor to the play and he also reminds us a bit of Bladrick from blackadder.

Raliegh and Stanhope
I'm not sure if Stanhope actually likes Raleigh or not? Like when Raleigh is explaining to Osborne how he and Stanhope were "terrific pals," he seems certain Stanhope will be delighted to see him. However when they do, to me, it seems to have the opposite effect. Stanhope seems to dislike seeing Raleigh. Maybe its because Stanhope just doesn't like him or that he is just very surprised and doesn't want one of his "Pals" getting hurt?
